About Me

My name is Marc McAfee, and I'm a reporter in Panama City, Florida. I find, shoot, write, edit and present my stories twice a day on live local television. I've covered the usual murders and drug busts that come with the local news territory, but I've also enjoyed the opportunity to branch out and tell some of the unique stories that go between those bigger headlines.
I'm currently a few miles away from my home state of Georgia, where I lived for most of my life in Kennesaw. I proudly attended the University of Georgia, where I studied newspaper and broadcast journalism.
While still a student, I reported for the local television station in Athens. I also reported in print and video form for the independent student newspaper, The Red and Black.
During the summer of 2009, I was an intern for CNN in Atlanta. I worked for the Situation Room and State of the Union, helping them cover everything from the Iranian uprisings to the death of Michael Jackson.
I graduated from UGA with my Broadcast News degree in 2009, and was lucky enough to get a job amongst the Gators in Florida.
Since then I've been hard at work for News13 in Panama City. The oil spill and a school board shooting here made national news, and I also covered the federal trial of the flamboyant founder of Girls Gone Wild.
A few years ago, I never would have thought I could handle the rush of multiple deadlines every day. Now I can't imagine doing anything else.
